Our company

ORIMA Research Pty Ltd commenced operations in February 1997. We have offices in Melbourne and Canberra.

ORIMA Research specialises in performing market, social and organisational performance research consultancies. We understand the operating environment (including the constraints and sensitivities) faced by both our public sector and private sector clients. Our approach is based on forging close working relationships with our clients and delivering high quality outcomes in line with our clients’ objectives.

Our consultants belong to the Australian Market and Social Research Society (AMSRS) and ORIMA Research adheres to the Society's Code of Professional Behaviour. Our senior consultants have also achieved accreditation as Qualified Practising Market Researchers (QPMR).

ORIMA Research is a member of the Association of Market and Social Research Organisations (AMSRO) and adheres to the Market and Social Research Privacy Principles administered by AMSRO in accordance with the Privacy Act 2000 (Commonwealth).

ORIMA Research complies with the market and social research quality standard AS ISO 20252 – 2006.


What does ORIMA mean?

People often ask us what our name, “ORIMA” (pronounced “o-ree-ma”) means. Before the company began, a name was sought that was unique and that was inspired by our field of expertise – Organisational Improvement and Market Research. ORIMA was formed as an amalgamation of these words.

Since then, we have discovered that ‘orima’, in the ancient Dravidian (South Indian) language means “friendship” and “harmony”.
